THREE POINTS: Dan Maher lines up to kick a penalty for the Tricolours. Picture: Kellie WrightThe Cootamundra Tricolours have lost a close fought game, going down 5-3 away to local rivals Temora Tuskers.

With near-constant rain makingfor a forwards game there wereplenty of fumbles and few scoring opportunities.

Temora eventually got over the line but failed to convert whilst Cootamundra had to settle for a penalty.

Coach Shane Botham saysthe Tricolours were unlucky to have a drop goal disallowed and not make the most of their other chances.

“We needed to be a little more urgent in the breakdown and moving forward,” Botham said.

In other local sport, the Blues were convincingly beat on the road by Ainslie Tricolours.

The Blues won with ease at home over Yass Roos in round one and despite missing a few playerslooked good travelling to Ainslie, who narrowly lost away to Cooma last week.

Instead they kicked just 4.6-30 to 15.12-102.

Ainslie undoubtedly benefited from playing at home, and may have been aided by some ring-inplayers as they also have sides in the first and secondgrade.
