Described as a resort-style single-level home, the Jelbart Street property sold for $1.48 million at auction on Saturday, topping the previous suburb record of $1.14 million.

While unassuming from the street, the four-bedroom home features immaculate hardwood oak floors, large double-glazed windows, four separate living and dining areas and an extensive alfresco living design.

Independent Property Group agent Jonathan Charles said three bidders were registered on the day, with bidding starting at $1.1 million.

“The property was always going to get the sales record, we just weren’t sure by how much,” Mr Charles said.

“We would have had over 150 groups through for inspections, which is definitely above average number of viewers. The family that brought the home, they were really ecstatic.”

The wet weather held off for most of the auction action across the nation’s capital on Saturday.
